Golden Film for The Resistance Banker

17th of March, 2018 - More than 100,000 visitors have now seen the film The Resistance Banker in the cinema since its release on 8 March 2018, meaning the film has achieved Golden Film status. On Saturday evening, the award was presented to the Van Hall family, director Joram Lürsen and producer Sytze van der Laan by lead actor Barry Atsma. The Golden Film is awarded by the Netherlands Film Fund and the Netherlands Film Festival in cooperation with L’OR ESPRESSO, main sponsor of the Netherlands Film Festival. The Resistance Banker is the first film to have reached Golden Film status this year.

Directed by Joram Lürsen (The Longing, A Noble Intention, Love is All), the screenplay was written by Marieke van der Pol & Thomas van der Ree. The principal roles were played by Barry Atsma, Jacob Derwig, Pierre Bokma, Fockeline Ouwerkerk and Raymond Thiry.

The film was produced by NL Film in co-production with EO and Zilvermeer Productions. The film was made possible thanks to contributions from the Netherlands Film Fund, the Netherlands Film Production Incentive and the CoBo Fund. The Resistance Banker is distributed by Dutch FilmWorks and screens in 131 cinemas.
