NL Film is a creative, leading production company that specialises in feature films and television drama. Thanks to its great affinity with contemporary audiences, NL Film provides a wide range of high-quality productions for every target group.
NL Film was founded in 2001 and is led by Alain de Levita. In October 2010, the team was strengthened by the arrival of creative director Kaja Wolffers.
Since being founded, NL Film has built up an impressive oeuvre of short and feature-length films, youth drama and television series. The broad range of target groups the production house manages to cater to is remarkable. From series like Keijzer en de Boer Advocaten, Penoza and In Therapie for the Dutch public broadcasters to drama series such as Voetbalvrouwen and Verborgen Gebreken for the commercial channels.
NL Film is an exceptionally dynamic producer which continually manages to market a large number of successful films and television series. NL Film’ strength lies in tailor-made work and production value. This is undoubtedly thanks to the company’s extensive network of experienced film and television makers, and its role as a breeding ground for new talent. Series such as SpangaS and VRijland have enabled NL Film to constantly reconfirm its role as market leader in the field of youth drama. Various feature films including De Storm, Lang & Gelukkig en Alle Tijd have also made NL Film one of the most active, talked about contemporary Dutch film producers.
The No Pictures Please production company has been part of NL Film since 2008. No Pictures Please (NPP) produces non-fiction television programmes like Fans for SBS6 and Heibel langs de lijn for Z@pp.
